The Slippery Slope of Narcissistic Abuse (And The Fight To Regained My Identity)
Did you ever wonder how successful and confident people get sucked into narcissistic relationships?
Theresa Rozyla was in her mid-twenties when she met the man who became her husband. She was beautiful, full of life, and held a job she loved as a corporate marketing person for Dufry.
They were happy for the first few years, but then slowly, the put-downs came. It started with the occasional comments about her physical appearance, but it escalated to daily put-downs of how she is inadequate as a person. He drained their joint account and limited her contacts with friends and family.
Terri knew that something wasn’t right, but she felt trapped, so she stayed, until one fateful night when everything shattered to pieces.
“I am living in hell from one day to the next. But there is nothing I can do to escape. I don’t know where I would go if I did. I feel utterly powerless, and that feeling is my prison. I entered of my own free will, I locked the door, and I threw away the key.”
― Haruki Murakami
Hear Terri’s story, how she mustered the courage to leave, and how she found her identity again after losing it in this twelve-year abusive marriage.
